524: The Keys to Self-Worth That Most People Miss
LISTEN TO THE EPISODE
Episode Summary
Self-validation is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to build self-worth from the inside out.
Today I’m talking about the power of self-validation and why it can truly change your life. Self-validation is the practice of noticing what you are doing, thinking, feeling, or needing, acknowledging it, and giving yourself the encouragement, kindness, and support you may have been looking for outside of yourself.
So many of us rely on external validation. We want praise, approval, recognition, or reassurance from others to feel good about who we are. And while it feels wonderful when someone gives us encouragement, it cannot be the foundation of our worth. That foundation has to come from within.
I’m sharing simple ways to begin validating yourself throughout the day. I talk about becoming your own best cheerleader, speaking to yourself with kindness, owning your mistakes without shame, paying attention to your feelings and needs, and learning how self-validation helps us re-parent the parts of ourselves that may not have received enough reflection or validation in childhood.
This is not about bragging, becoming self-centered, or comparing yourself to others. It is about quietly and consistently building a healthier relationship with yourself. When you practice self-validation, you begin to build self-worth, self-esteem, confidence, self-love, and a stronger connection to your Adult Chair.
